The HERMANN-Coburg Needlework Room

When the Teddy Bear's arms, legs and head are stuffed, they have to be brought to the Needlework Room. The women, who work there, have to undertake all tasks, which have to be done by hand with needle and thread.

The name "Needlework Room" is only an unperfected translation of the German word. The correct translation would be "Garnishing Room", where the "Garnishing Women" work. But not even in other German regions as the toy area around Sonneberg and Coburg, nobody would understand what this means. "Garnishing Room" and "Garnishing Women" are very old traditional terms, which you only can understand, when you are growing up in the toy region of Thuriniga.

Here in the Needlework Room, the 4th stop on our little sightseeing tour, you will be acquainted with:

the HERMANN-Coburg Neckmark
the Teddy Bear's eyes
the hand stitching of the Bear's nose
the putting in of the joints
the Teddy Bear's ears
other works
