Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange

The New York Stock Exchange was brought to life on Wall Street over 200 years ago on May 17, 1792. Since then the New Yorker bank and stock market street portrays the money market trade center of the entire world. The biggest world economic crisis of our time, began with the New York stock market crash - Black Friday - in 1929 on Wall Street, and spread over the entire world market.

Inseparable from the stock market are two symbols the "Bear" and the "Bull". On one hand you have the soaring, dynamic "Bull" for the rising markets and on the other the clumsier "Bear" symbolizing the sinking market. In comparison to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, where both symbols are displayed as bigger than life-sized bronze statues; on Wall Street the Bull is only represented.
